Sony today announced that its video content delivery service on the PS3 now offers download-to-own HD movies from all of the major movie studios. The list is comprised of 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures, Universal, Walt Disney, and Warner Bros.

Most of these studios already offered high-definition films on the Playstation Network, but virtually all of them were only available as "rental" items, meaning they could be played for around 24 hours but then their license would expire.
PlayStation Storefront
After today's change, "PlayStation Network is the first and only service to deliver high definition home entertainment from all six major studios, directly to consumers for download," said Peter Dille, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment America's marketing and PSN departments.

Movies such as 2012, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, and This Is It are among the list of titles now available for purchase in high defintion.

The only real issue now is file size. Just a couple full-length HD movies could easily eat up a PS3 hard drive. And Sony doesn't allow users to easily re-download the movies that they have purchased (though it is possible to back them up and restore them at a later date).

Regardless, it is a big move for Sony as the first to land such a deal. It certainly can't be long before the big studios start offering download-to-own HD content on other platforms now.

Wanna Boost Your Search Engine Rankings

Getting a high search engine ranking doesn't happen overnight. While it won't happen quickly, if you make a consistent effort, and you follow the right strategies, you can definitely achieve a high page rank (PR) with the major search engines.

Achieving a high ranking is analogous to running for a political office. Just like you need to get votes in order to win an election, you also need votes in order to get a high search engine score. Getting links to your site is the same as getting votes. If it is all about getting links, then the more that you have the higher you should rank right? Wrong! Also just like with a political campaign, some votes carry more weight than do others. If you have 1,000 links to your site from pages that have a low PR, then your site is not going to benefit enough to push you up in the search engine's organic results; however, if you have 300 links from sites that have reputations for being quality sites with quality content, then you have a much better chance of increasing your position in the search results page.

Here are a few quick tips for improving your page rank. First of all, make sure that you don't associate with any "bad neighbors". Linking to sites with poor reputations will hurt your overall quality score and pull down the ranking of your page. Keywords are important to the search engines because keywords are used to help index the pages. Use a handful of specific keywords and not just a smattering of imprecise keywords.

Another thing, it's important for the search engines to see quality content on a consistent basis. They love fresh, high-quality content. One thing that search engines don't like are sales pages. So how can you associate your sales page with high-quality content? Start a blog on a major blogging site and link back to your sales page. Each time that you complete a new blog on your blog site, that will give you a new link back to your page. That will have the net effect of boosting the PR of your sales page.

Keep in mind that people are going to be reading these pages, not computers. If you follow a few rules and you make your website a place that will appeal to people, then your website will achieve the high PR that it needs in order to get the results that you want for it.

Learn how to improve your home and save money plus help the environment, all at the same time. It is a winning situation all the way around!

1- Make Meatless Monday's part of your menu planning. You will not only save money buying expensive meats you will give yourself and your family members a health boost by making sure that they get more vegetables and ease off of the fatty meats. You will also reduce your environmental impact at the same time.

2- Grow your own herbs. Pick a sunny windowsill and get growing! Seed and starter kits are very inexpensive and readily available. Growing herbs is very simple and they require minimal effort to keep alive and producing. Not only will your herbs improve the flavor of your meals the plants will help to improve the air quality in your home.

3- Install a programmable thermostat. You will save an average of $180 a year along with reducing your carbon footprint.

4- Install weather-stripping and caulk any gaps. You will save money on your heating bill, reduce your environmental impact and make you home more comfortable.

5- Pack your lunch. If you order in for lunch make a commitment to bring your own lunch instead, even three days a week. You will save piles of money and also be eating healthier. Homemade meals have lower levels of sodium fat and calories than convenience foods.

6- Start a 'no shoes' rule. There have been numerous studies that show hazardous materials can be tracked into your home that will seriously affect the air quality. Implementing no shoes beyond the foyer policy will not only ensure that your air is healthy it will save damage to your floors and make them last longer.

7- Get your green thumb out. Houseplants are very beneficial to air quality and also improve the beauty and atmosphere of your home. Some of the best air purifying plants are spider plant and rubber trees.

8- Regularly test your Co2 and smoke detectors. This simple step will keep your family and house protected.

- tutorials are clean and simple
- targeted towards the non-professional/beginner
- focus on some theory, but also practical real life applications (brochures, cards, etc)
- not just focused on tools and tricks in Photoshop
- not overwhelming in content (like so many other design websites)

Maybe I just need to get over it and pay for the articles, but surely there are other sites out there with comparable content?
